After receiving my Bachelor of Arts degree in History from McGill in 1999, I continued to study Drawing and Painting at The Ontario College of Art and Design which included the Florence Off-Campus Program. Studying History taught me the value of sharing stories--to gain a window into both alternative and similar lived experiences--and painting allowed me to express them on a visual platform.

I continued to pursue my Bachelor of Education after which I taught at the elementary level, which included developing an Expressive Arts program to students with developmental disabilities.

Specific life choices have put my painting career on pause intermittently; while pursuing teaching and having children.  However, it is the one constant I keep returning to, that allows me to better understand, express and question my immediate surroundings and experiences. Painting has always been a means to tell a story; a visual narrative that connects me to the viewer based on some shared experience.

These painted “plots” also extended beyond the canvas with the creation of custom wedding Ketubahs. What started as a highly personalized wedding gift for friends and family, grew as I began to branch out to work with couples to create the perfect artwork. Artwork that speaks about and to them as they embark on their lives together. In this way, when painting wedding Ketubahs, I am narrating each couple’s unique union; creating an artifact rich with memories of where their union began.
